Well the transfer window has slammed shut for another year (well four months to be precise) and avid fans the length and breadth of the country are like kids on Christmas morning.
As a Bolton fan I think we’ve done really well. David Ngog and Gael Kakuta are no slouches and will play their part no doubt. The best thing is that we’ve kept hold of Gary Cahill, having been linked with a big money move away. Harry Redknapp failed to secure his services after Owen Coyle asked for Jermain Defoe in exchange.
Previous to this however, he was courted by and widely touted with a move to Arsenal. Things did not go according to plan. There was a ‘derisory’ offer of £6m from the Gooners, well below the £17m asking price. Our belovèd chairman Mr Gartside retweeted a comment by a supporter that contained a few expletives. This of course that Mr Gartside inadvertently endorsed this supporter.
Mr Wenger, to coin a phrase ‘saw his arse’ and began to complain bitterly with as much Gallic charm as he could muster. They then, increased their bid substantially, strange that?
Arsenal have, over the summer have been busy fending of Barcelona, Man Utd and Man City from pursuing Fabregas and Nasri. They wanted, quite rightly, to hang on to their stars and would only sell for the right price. So it really stuck in my craw when Arsene started creating about Boltons’ stance on Cahill.
And this is where we come down to it, Mr Wenger when the boot is on the other foot, be prepared to hop!
Good Morning one and all!
This is my brand new blog thing. I’ve been considering it for a while and have taken the plunge!
So what are you going to see from me on here? Well there’ll be a lot of current affairs chat as I oppose everything that the CON-DEMS do i.e. making everyone much poorer and then wondering why there’s more litter on the streets etc etc.
Football. The state of the game in general. Who’s in form/out of form, transfer goss and the fortunes of by beloved Bolton Wanderers.
Books. I enjoy reading (well it is part of my job) so will be getting you all to support us keepers of knowledge and enlightenment. I’d prefer you all to buy physical books, as they look better on the shelves. But if you have to buy electronic versions I won’t tut too loudly.
Films. My hit list of films to see (including the one’s that’ll I’ll fail miserably to get to) and my thoughts on them.
Food & Drink. I do have a love of everything edible (within reason, snails bleurgh!). I also like the odd tipple from time to time.
That’s about it really, I’ll obviously post certain things that’ll fall into none of the categories above and welcome and topics for discussion from yourselves.
